For these steps, part of the line Luxo Officine Sandrini line, it has been provided a unique steel strip, that accentuates the look of the natural stone, creating a focal point; from the second ramp was also inserted a Led in contact between step and wall to illuminate the side closed to the wall, enhancing the stair design.

This installation in Milan entirely in oxidized natural metal required modern staircase railings at the height of the situation: close panels (10 mm thick) with laser cut inserts, a decorative accent but also suitable for filtering light.The handrail is flat with support brackets and, with the vertical panels shaped by custom design, are inserted as said inside the curved masonry of which the railings recreate the effect. At the landing a glass railing serves as a barrier. The final effect has a strong aesthetic impact, industrial and modern style, perfectly suited to the context, striking staircase railing ideas for a strong staircase design.

Example of railings for more traditional internal stairs – a steel railing will work best for this wooden stair

There are not only super modern stairs and in any case they are not always the preferred ones; Sometimes more traditional wooden stairs or hybrid styles combining classic and modern elements are chosen; when mixing designs, some railing ideas can help refresh a classic installation or create a pleasant contrast. 

In this specific case, the last one of the three staircase railing ideas, the installation of wooden staircase Suspensia did not require a traditional wooden railing: it was chosen as a non-structural railing, but for decoration and protection use, something in contrast with the oak of the steps and also in connection with a style evoking nautical theme.

The railing material chosen was mirror-polished stainless steel, with a round handrail and square newel post, with three horizontal bars, each 10 mm in diameter. The final effect is a refined yet simple look, quite distinct from wood railing staircase styles, which might have given the space a more rustic and traditional appearance, contrary to the client’s contemporary tastes.

At the last section of the staircase, a solid  blind panel was inserted covered with oak wood, but in the rest of the hinge of the ramps the essentiality and brightness of mirror-polished stainless steel contrast the warm, earthy texture of the wood.
